NEWLAND, NC (Day 5).  Today we drove up to Boone and to its surrounding areas to check out things like the Publix (great), other campgrounds (some good and some bad), the new PCA church in Vilas currently meeting in a store front (no one was there but we looked in the windows; looked nice inside), and to make reservations for next summer at a KOA.

On our drive back to our campground, Betty shot images out the car window.  It was freezing cold and windy last night, and the colors of the leaves really seemed to snap in the sunlight today.  There is some blur due to the moving car.

The strong winds apparently blew off quite a few leaves from some trees.  See below.
