GREENWOOD, NE.  This is a small town northeast of Lincoln, NE.  It may be a slight bit cooler than Ogallala, but not by much.  It was nearly a 300-mile drive to get here today, and we dealt with the same heat issues as yesterday.  We left the RV park at 8 am MDT but "lost" an hour as we changed to CDT driving east into the rising sun.   Nebraska has all the dry turbulent wind of Wyoming even though it is 5,000 feet lower in altitude.    The sun has gone down now and we have the front windows open and fans going.  Just like in the old days before air conditioning.  The bedroom again is closed off with its AC running.

One thing new on our minds today was that the small rock crater in the lower left corner of the windshield is sending a crack ever so slowly across the lower windshield diagonally from lower left to upper right.  We noticed it a few days ago but it seemingly was not moving then.  This morning I put a colored dot sticky on the end if it, and we saw it grow about three inches today.  A definite change in behavior.  Hopefully it does not get out of hand before Oct 1st when we can have the Tiffin technicians look at it at the Tiffin rally.  They may need to replace the whole windshield.  One more example of how this year's trip differs from last year's trip.

One good thing to report is that tomorrow's church service should be dramatically better than last week's.  The only Orthodox Presbyterian Church in the state of Nebraska is in Lincoln, so we shall sample its fare in the morning.  Stay tuned.
