SALMON, ID (Day 7).  We are enjoying it so much here that we have decided to stay for another week.  We cancelled our reservations in Stanley and Arco, since we both have seen those places already, and they are experiencing temperatures in the 20s at night.

So, we shall be leaving here on the 26th heading for Butte, MT for one night before continuing on to Livingston, MT for a week in that beautiful place 30 miles north of the north gate of Yellowstone NP.

A couple days ago as we drove back here to the RV park we noticed a new arrival.  A couple from California were camped in a trailer and were seated outside with three peregrine falcons perched on small pedestals stuck into the ground.  They use them to hunt grouse without the use of firearms.  We had no idea anyone still did that, but it is apparently common in this part of the country.  Sometimes the people you meet along the journey amaze you.
