OUTSIDE NEWLAND, NC.  Have good WIFI here right now so figured we should update this blog.

Nov 10th stayed at a very nice and large RV park in Brunswick, GA.

Nov 11th stayed at a so-so RV park outside Augusta, GA.

Nov 12 - 14 stayed at a creekside park not quite as bad as last trip's campground in that area of the North Carolina mountains.  The area this time was Lake Toxaway, and the park (Riverbend) was reached after a long drive along narrow winding mountain roads, then a hard turn onto a narrow single-lane gravel driveway that also wound around down to the creek area.

Hurricane Fred had flooded the area, but this park came through with some damage but not like what happened farther north.  It was pretty much a bare bones park, and we were glad to leave.  Then, once again, we drove the mountain roads to get back to some good roads.

We did get the opportunity to visit with old friends of mine from nearly 40 years ago, and took photos of some water falls.  One below is called Dry Falls because you can walk behind it without getting too wet.

Behind Dry Falls

We are now at a campground we stayed at on our last trip, Buck Hill Campground.  We had not intended to repeat a stay here, but October in North Caroliona leaves few options due to the popularity of the fall colors.  We were given the same site as before, which has a  terrible hookup arrangement.  Pictured below is how far the sewer port is from the parking location, and the water source location is nearly as bad.
