FRONT ROYAL, VA.  After an excellent breakfast with the Ransoms, we drove back to the campground to hitch the Jeep to the motorhome and drive here, the Skyline Ranch Resort.  We are near the Skyline Drive, which overlooks the Shenandoah Valley, a drive that we shall take tomorrow in the Jeep.  Hopefully the weather will be clear.

This may be a very interesting place during the summer when the pool is open, there is horseback riding, the petting zoo is in full swing, the children activities are active, etc.  Much is now closed for the season.  We are pretty much here merely for the easy access to Skyline Drive.  We only wish the fall colors were out here.  Once we left New England the colors were gone.  We had hoped to follow the colors down the east coast, but apparently it does not work that way.

As I complete this writing after 9:00 pm, it once again is pouring down rain and very windy.  What a windy, rainy year it has been! Virginia has experienced a lot of flooding, as has other places farther north.  It is not related to the hurricanes; these are separate weather patterns farther north.
