SACO, ME Day 2. Today we drove up the coast to see the Portland Head Lighthouse and two other nearby lighthouses.  Again there were significant crowds, compounded by several school field trips unloading busloads of kids.

I shot photos of the head light years ago when I happened upon the ideal vantage point that allowed the standard calendar shot of the light.  Today we went to the park where the lighthouse is located, which was nice enough but too close to have the best perspective and, as already noted, very crowded.

Just down the road two other lighthouses were situated within settled neighborhoods with private roads that prevented getting a good shot of both lighthouses.

After we returned to the campground, we were joined by our two friends and after catching up on recent events, we went to a nearby restaurant for a late lunch.  It was a great visit.

Tomorrow we leave for a campground in western Connecticut.
