SACO, ME.  Drove in sunny and pretty hot weather to a very leafy little campground that is technically closed for the season, but they mistakenly made a reservation for me after Columbus Day when they close each year.  Usually it is cold and possibly snowing already, which I knew nothing about when I booked the date.  We fortunately are having clear weather, even a bit too warm, in the 80s.

Tomorrow we shall be joined by a couple we met on our RV tour a couple months ago.  She is from Maine and has family here, so they are spending several days vacationing in the state.  They asked us to call them when we got here, which we did.  They are going to drive 2 1/2 hours from near Bangor to meet us for lunch tomorrow, then drive back 2 1/2 hours.  We were stunned that anyone would want to go to that much trouble to have lunch with us.  In the morning we shall visit the South Portland lighthouses which are much photographed.  Wish we had more time to see other local sights.
